COVID Rent Relief
Has your tenant requested COVID rent relief? We can make sure that the tenant does not receive more than the law allows them to.
For the first time ever, the law has stepped in to limit a landlord’s right to enforce their lease. Some people may still be confused about how this affects them. We do not blame them! If you are a commercial landlord, we can help.
We can help clear things up. We can help you find out if the COVID rent relief law applies to you. If so, we can explain what information the law allows you to ask for. And, once the tenant gives this to you, we can work out the rent relief.
We can also work out how much rent you must waive and how much you can defer. Some landlords we have dealt with believed they had to waive 100% of the rent. This is not the case.

We can help clear up what you can and cannot do due to COVID.

The COVID laws do not ban all rights to enforce your lease.
What happens if the tenant defaults in other ways?
Some landlords we have dealt with believed that the law forbids any right to enforce the lease. The law does not do this.
The law forbids a right to enforce the lease only in certain ways. It is not a total ban.
We had one case where the tenant failed to maintain the site. They caused major damage to the site and refused to fix it. In that case, the law allowed us to enforce the lease.
Do the same facts apply to you? Is your tenant in default for some other reason? If so, we can help find out if you can enforce the lease.
How much does this cost?
We fix our costs in most cases. We will provide you with a quote.
